When you are facing a difficult time in life, is it possible to have perfect peace at the same time? I was reading in my Bible today and a verse stood out to me. It’s funny because it was also posted on Facebook as well. I think the Lord was trying to tell me something. Have you ever had that happen?
Then you feel like you’ve been gently hit over the head. The verse that kept popping up is found in Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep in PERFECT PEACE (emphasis mine) all who TRUST in you, all whose thoughts are FIXED on you! Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock.”
Think about that You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you. After reading this verse, I immediately remembered a passage in the book of Hebrews.
In Hebrews 12:1-3 We see the way to finish a race strong. This passage says:
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us RUN with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up.”
It’s easy to become weary when we look at all the things we deal with in life. Maybe your car broke down this week and you don’t have the money to fix it, maybe your bank account is running dry, maybe you are emotionally drained, and just wondering God where are you?
When you face a difficult time praise the Lord!!
- Fix your eyes on Him.
- Worship the Lord – I love to worship the Lord. I do this in a number of ways by playing the piano and singing.
- Stand Fast and Wait.
When you think about how much God loves, how He is ALWAYS faithful, how He is still working in you and through you. You just PUSH through. Knowing that you have PERFECT PEACE.
Take time today to give thanks to the Lord and push through the storm.
